Fast, accurate synchronization
Since it is based on a spindle-mounted sensor, our Smart Spindle™
solves one of the most frustrating problems in precision grinding:
synchronizing the wheel with pre-cut features. With this new technology,
we can now automatically equalize stock on both sides of a thread
groove with significant improvement in both quality and productivity.
The Smart Spindle™ technology features
an acoustic sensor buried in the high-speed spindle which senses
wheel contact to within 0.5 micrometer (0.000,020").
